part i.
Character name: Adam Monroe
Fandom: Heroes
Species: Evolved human
Character powers: Adam has the power of rapid cellular regeneration. His body will heal from any injury, up to and including death, making him effectively immortal. Minor injuries heal on the spot; the more severe the injury, the longer the healing process, though he can return from death in just a few minutes.
part ii.
1.) Is it acceptable for your character to be mind-controlled or persuaded? How susceptible are they to mind control, hypnotism, or suggestion?
Yes. Adam would be reasonably susceptible.
2.) Is it acceptable for your character to have their mind read? Does this include traumatic memories? What is their mind like (disturbing, orderly, joyful, surprisingly empty, etc.)? If the character has psychic walls or preventative measures against psychic interference, please explain.
Yes. Adam's mind is constantly working, assessing situations, trying to find the best way to tackle them. There's a sense of responsibility, of superiority, of wanting to be in charge, and hints that all is not what it seems, with him.
3.) Are thoughts mentioned in narration acceptable for a telepath to pick up?
Yes.
4.) What about emotions, in the case of an empath? What sort of general emotional reading would such a character receive from yours?
Yes. Emotionally Adam is a bit distant and cool, but there's passion lurking beneath that. He's forceful, confident, poised, but quick to anger.
5.) Are there any aspects of your character's mind, emotions, or memories you would like to be picked up, mentioned, or used in character? Conversely, is there anything that should not be noticed, or at least never mentioned?
It’s all right, for those with the capability, to pick up that Adam seems old beyond his years. "Not what he seems" is probably a very good general reading, too, on a number of levels.
Major memories with heavy emotions attached that might make them easy to pick up by another character include having a poor childhood in a large family, rebelling against the expectation of following his father into his trade, traveling the world by ship, spending a lot of time in Japan, Quebec, and New York, his loathing for Hiro Nakamura, his perception of being repeatedly betrayed, and being buried alive.
part iii.
1.) Physically speaking, what stands out about your character? Imposing size? Physical scarring? Tattoos?
Adam is 365. And a half. But he could pass for thirty. He stands six feet tall and has a slender but physically fit build, with blonde hair and blue eyes. He tends to dress well but not ostentatiously—slacks and button-downs that look casual but are, to someone that has the eye for such details, high-quality and expensive. He carries himself gracefully, with the easy air of someone unafraid to assume responsibility if it's needed (he likes to pretend he's not always after it in the first place); he's soft-spoken unless angered.
2.) Is your character immune to any of the following: poisons, chemical agents, telekinetic influence, radiation, or types of illnesses?
No, but he will rapidly heal from any damage. The longer/stronger the exposure, the slower his healing time, but we're still talking about relatively small amounts of time. (Dude once came back from being blown up, okay. Took him about a day.)
3.) Is your character physiologically different from a human in any way? This can include their blood, skin, hair, et cetera being made up of something unusual or simply differing in construction and durability.
His cells heal and renew so rapidly, they have reached equilibrium with the cells that die off. He is effectively immortal, and able to heal from any injury save being beheaded and having his head moved away from his body. This cellular regeneration also carries in his blood and can be transferred to another person via blood contact or injection; in other words, another person could be healed from injuries/illness/possibly even death if he gets there within a couple of minutes by being injected with his blood, or ingesting a significant amount, or having a significant amount come in contact with the affected area.
4.) Are you amenable to having your character be harmed in any way? How far are you comfortable with injury to you character going? Does this include being fed on by vampires, willingly or unwillingly?
I'm fine with most things. If it's your general brawling-with-others type injuries we can just move forward; for serious maimings, things that would require long recovery periods, death, or vampire feedings let's talk first so I can figure out how to handle it. Adam will just come back! But we should especially talk about vampire feedings, so you can decide wtf to do about his blood.
5.) Is it acceptable for other characters with abilities of shapeshifting or disguise to imitate your character? Does this include ability mimicry?
Yes. Just give me a quick run-down of what they did while impersonating Adam so I'm prepared for any IC consquences.
part iv.
1.) Can your character's presence or aura be noticed by other characters, and how would it look/feel to them? How would it manifest to a character with no supernatural abilities, if at all?
Apart from the cellular regeneration Adam is a garden-variety human. If your character would be able to sense the aura of a normal human that's what they'd sense when he was around, unless they can sense a person's age, then he'd seem jarringly old. To everyone else he’s just a person.
2.) Can your character be affected by magic spells and curses?
Yes.
3.) Can your character be affected by sin and corruption, and be tempted toward expressing their darker urges (of whatever flavor)?
Yes.
4. What sort of sins is the character prone toward, and how might they best be tempted, if you are interested in such an event?
Wrath, pride, greed, envy, lust, vengeance, power, superiority, wanting to play God, the list goes on and on. Appeal to his dark side or to one of his drives and you're golden.
5.) Are you amenable to the character receiving prophetic visions, including as part of a plot?
Yes.
part v.
1.) Is canon-puncturing or fourth-walling acceptable? We encourage people to tread extremely lightly with allowing their character to learn they are fictional.
No.
2. Is threadjacking allowed? Under what circumstances?
I'm okay with threadjacking in open network posts. If you want to join a log give me and any other players involved a heads-up and we'll work it out.
3. Is it acceptable for canonmates that are updated further than yours to inform your character of events yours has not yet experienced?
Yes.
4. Are there triggering or upsetting topics you would like other characters to avoid mentioning to yours for the sake of continued comfort (racist words, homophobia, self-injury, etc.)?
I don't have anything that's an absolute, don't-ever-bring-that-up trigger. If something does start to make me uncomfortable I will speak up; likewise, I will completely respect others' triggers and I want you to speak up if you're not comfortable.
I can probably deal if it's legitimately IC for your character to say certain things or behave certain ways and it's handled well.
